Awaiting more claims – The Reclaim Crypto Team marks the cases that, in the event of more claims, will increase the chance of recovering money as a result of a class action. At the moment the Reclaim Crypto Team is still awaiting more victims submitting the claims related to the certain case in order to collect additional evidence and examine the possibility of a successful reclaim. However, it should be noted that even individual cases may lead to capture of scammers or hackers in the future. Illicit addresses added to database – The Reclaim Crypto Team marks a scammer/hacker’s address as “high-risk” in Coinfirm’s database which allows to conduct a deeper analysis of illicit crypto flows, and to better trace the paths of outgoing crypto funds, through transaction tracking on Coinfirm’s AML Platform. The analysis and further investigation of a submitted case could take from a few months to couple of years. Once the Reclaim Crypto Team decides to assist in the recovery of the stolen cryptocurrency, an offer and agreement will be proposed to the participants related to the accepted claims.
Pending – The Detailed Reclaim Request has been completed by a victim and is waiting for an initial analysis. Each claim is individually analyzed. The waiting time for the initial analysis depends on the number of claims submitted (it can take from a few days to a few weeks). After this time the Reclaim Crypto Team will contact a victim via the Reclaim Crypto Service Desk. During this process a victim can be asked to provide additional information and documents which will allow the Reclaim Crypto Team to better evaluate the claim.

After providing the requested information/documents by a victim, the Reclaim Crypto Team needs a relevant amount of time (from few days to few weeks – depends on the complexity of the case and amount of data provided) to investigate the received evidence. Once the Reclaim Crypto Team finishes the initial analysis of the claim, a victim will be informed about further steps related to the submitted claim.

Proof of address ownership may be required in the course of our investigation. It can be easily done with cryptographic signature and we will provide instructions on how to do so, when needed. Coinfirm has developed the world’s most extensive structured database of blockchain transactions and off-chain data. For most of the transactions we could identify at least one counterparty.
Please note that we require the evidence supporting what you have described and you need to provide us with the proof of ownership and loss of each cryptocurrency e.g. screenshot from the exchange or hashes of misappropriated transactions.
We can investigate all blockchain-based assets included in Coinfirm’s market leading coverage, these includes BTC, ETH, ERC20 Tokens, XRP, LTC, BCH, NEO and DASH with more coming. Investigating claims involving anonymous coins may be challenging but possible.
We continuously manage our internal database, by defining addresses from the variety of blockchains based on on-chain and off-chain data. An “illicit address” is the one that our database suggests us linked to illegal activity such as hacking, scaming, phishing etc. Where we mark a scammer/hacker’s address as “high-risk,” this allows us to conduct a deeper analysis of illicit crypto flows, and to better trace the paths of outgoing crypto funds, through transaction tracking on our AML Platform.
Our technology allows us to detect the source and destination of misappropriated funds, which allows us to examine multiple cases at the same time. However, forensic investigations and legalactions are complicated multi-phase processes, and we will need to prioritize the cases.
You may report as many addresses as you want. If you are the victim of more than one case, it is essential to assign the addresses to a specific claim.
Private key recovery is not currently within the core service of Reclaim Crypto and Coinfirm.

Reclaim Crypto service was launched recently (31 October 2019) and we have only recently started collecting the initial claims data. We have conducted multiple fraud investigation cases to date, many of which were successful, or are still in progress. Litigation and assets recovery processes may take substantial time in some cases.
Coinfirm consists an experienced team of investigators supported by our proprietary technology and industry-leading Coinfirm Analytics and AML Platform. Thanks to one of the world’s largest database of blockchain transactions and our off-chain data and analytical engine, we detect the destination of misappropriated funds on the fly as well and can prepare comprehensive evidence in support. Coinfirm has partnered with leading companies and experts in the crypto industry that specialize in fraud investigations, business intelligence and asset recovery.
The system has just started operating. We are currently collecting claims from all around the world, asking for additional evidence, making feasibility assessments, reaching to other victims of already-reported frauds and prioritizing cases. Due to the cross-border nature and the complexity of crypto-related crimes , the length of time till recovery must be assessed on a case by case basis. Each victim that has submitted a claim via our website can easily check the current status of their claim by visiting https://coinfirm.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals.
The loss of any type of cryptocurrency can be claimed, as well as other assets, including fiat currencies.
We go through all claims in order to identify the cases with the greatest chance of being successfully resolved. However, even individual cases may lead to capture of scammers or hackers in the future. Our sorting methodology allows us to catalogue issues with maximum recovery potential. The final case acceptance depends on many factors such as:
There are many different types of fraud, each with different characteristics; therefore our initial review of your claim request requires significant upfront analysis. After you submit a Reclaim Crypto claim, Coinfirm’s analysts investigate each case in terms of data compliance. Where any crucial information/documentation if missing, we will reach out to you to obtain additional evidence. The operating process is adjusted to the type of fraud and includes tracking and evidencing misappropriated funds, reaching to other victims of the same fraud, creating and filing a class action or other legal proceeding, onsite investigation, screening of computers and servers, supporting law enforcement activities, conducting interviews and other business intelligence inquires, and assets tracking and recovery.
The whole claims process consists of 6 simple steps:
We evaluate each case individually. The parameters considered in prioritization of cases relate to the feasibility of recovery, number of victims and value of claims. The feasibility of recovery depends on various factors such as the jurisdictions involved, cooperation with law enforcement, a number of different blockchain protocols involved. There is no pre-set minimum threshold, andwe will do our best to provide support for victims even when a class action or other coordinated proceeding is not possible.
There is no minimum threshold of stolen crypto. We will conduct a feasibility study in each case.
We will do our best to recover the full value of your loss. However, the success depends on multiple factors such as number of other claims related to the case, such as the legal jurisdictions and law enforcement involved.
We will contact you individually about the recovered funds and the steps required to complete the return of any funds to you.
The amount of success fee will be evaluated individually for each case and is dependent mostly on the estimated costs of the investigation and any necessary legal proceedings. It may be possible for us to lower any fee, for example where your claim can be combined as part of a classaction, or where other legal financing options are available.
We will prepare a custom offer and agreement for your case. The fee will typically be payable from the value of recovered assets, and may be dependent on such factors as:
There is no limit to the number of claims you may submit.
There is no deadline.
Anyone who has lost cryptocurrency funds in any form of a hack, shut down and/or hacked exchange, ransomware, ransoms, fake ICOs or who simply has lost funds by sending them to the wrong address.
The mission of this project is to offer the first and the largest crypto reclaim solution by providing the potential for billions of dollars in misappropriated cryptocurrency to be effectively and legally reclaimed.
There has been no end-to-end effective solution in the public market for pursuing the rights of victims of cryptocurrency-related frauds. The early stage, cross-border character, scale, and new technological complexity of blockchain has hindered efforts of victims and law enforcement. Reclaim Crypto uses the combination of fit for purpose technology, operational processes, experience and capabilities to effectively recover misappropriated virtual assets.
We continuously manage our internal database, by defining addresses from the variety of blockchains based on on-chain and off-chain data. With regards to that case, “illicit address” in general, is the one linked to the illegal activity such as hacking, scaming, phishing etc. By messaging about adding the address to the database we mean the one which affects you on being a victim, not yours. Provided address impacts in our investigation by allowing us a deeper analysis of illicit flows and settling the paths of the outgoing money, through transaction tracking on our AML Platform.
